Halloween season wraps up the night of Halloween when everyone gets to go trick or treating. However, there are many events in this area that can provide you and your family with some Halloween fun in the week leading up to the big day. A trunk-or-treat is one of these events that is both safe and fun for everyone to participate in. At these events, participants back their trunks up to a common, open space. Trunks are then opened and often decorated in some Halloween theme. People then pass out candy to kids and families as they walk around.

While this event is often very safe and even more so than trick or treating, there are still some ways you and your kids can stay safe:

  • Wear costumes that won't trip you up. You'll stay safe if you can walk around safely.
  • If it is going to be dark out, carry flashlights or glow sticks.
